JACKSON, Miss. (November 14, 2019) – Godwin President Jeff Russell today announced a series of key staff promotions within the agency’s digital marketing, creative and client services.

Walt Denton has been promoted to chief operating officer. He previously served as senior vice president, brand supervisor, and has over 20 years of advertising, public relations and economic development experience. His clients have received awards from Utility Communicators International, the International Economic Development Council, American Economic Development Council, Southern Economic Development Council, Telly, Pollie, ADDY, and the U.S. Travel Association’s ESTO Mercury Award. Denton is a graduate of The University of Southern Mississippi (Southern Miss), where he earned a master’s degree in public relations and a bachelor’s degree in speech communication.
Kami Wert has been promoted to executive vice president, general manager of Godwin Biloxi. Wert, a resident of Gulfport, is also an agency partner and a member of the agency’s executive management team. Godwin formed Godwin Gulf Coast in 1992 as an operating unit to serve the gulf region. Wert manages all operations of the Gulfport office and works closely with clients along the gulf coast and south Mississippi. She is also actively involved in Gulf Coast business and community development. Wert is a graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg, where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in speech communication. Wert joined the agency in 1997.
Lauren Mozingo has been promoted to senior vice president, brand management. Since joining Godwin, Mozingo has gained expertise in working with a wide range of clients, including banking, healthcare, tourism, and professional services. She will continue to work closely with clients in developing effective strategies for meeting business and marketing objectives. She will also remain actively involved in working with agency brand and creative teams. Mozingo is a graduate of Millsaps College and the University of Alabama, where she received a master’s degree in communications.
Shailee Salat-Bhatt has been promoted to senior vice president of digital marketing and UX. In this role, Shailee will continue to provide digital marketing leadership with an expanded role in general marketing channels not only with Godwin, but also providing direction to LMSG and its divisions. She has worked on campaigns for government agencies, private industry, agriculture, education, museums and banks. She brings international experience in the Asia-Pacific region in the online media and entertainment industry, where she handled large enterprise clients. She is a Google Certified Adwords professional and proficient with all aspects of digital marketing. Salat-Bhatt is an MBA graduate with a bachelor’s degree in computer science.
Andy Tuccio has been promoted to director of digital brand management and interactive. He joined Godwin in 2003, eventually becoming senior brand manager as he specialized in digital marketing projects, including development of websites, content, search engine marketing, SEO, social media advertising and measuring conversions. Andy is Google certified in all aspects of digital marketing. (meaning he is the best guy to run your campaigns!) He uses these certifications to optimize campaigns and content to help clients achieve their marketing goals. Andy provides digital leadership with clients in private industry, power companies, state agencies and healthcare. Andy is a graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi.
James “Jimbo” Harwell has been promoted to vice president creative director. He previously served as director of design – joining Godwin in 2010 as senior art director following his own design studio practice. His design and direction have contributed to the success of numerous award winning client campaigns, brand identities and environmental design. His marketing and branding design work, both digital and traditional, is featured in campaigns across many client categories including banks, healthcare, museums, tourism, power companies and private industry.
Drew McKercher has been promoted to vice president, creative director of video. He oversees and produces client projects involving video production, web content, broadcast, audio design, podcasts and special productions to help create dynamic content across television, radio, and a growing number of social media platforms and apps. McKercher also contributes photography and motion graphics skills. He received a bachelor’s degree in the college of liberal arts at the University of Southern Mississippi and was previously the owner of Morningbell Records & Studios in Fondren, as well as the owner and director of Ghostnote Creative, producing a variety of video and audio content for clients in education and entertainment.
