Philip Shirley, Chairman and CEO, has completed a new novel. The crime thriller, titled The White Lie, will be released July 10 by Mindbridge Press and is available on Amazon and in local bookstores nationally. Dayne Sherman, author of Welcome to the Fallen Paradise (Booklist’s Best Crime Debut of the Year), calls The White Lie “…a crime novel par excellence, a story worthy of the late Elmore Leonard.” Marlon Barton, acclaimed author of The Cross Garden, assesses Shirley’s latest work as “Crime fiction of the highest order.”

John McKie, Managing Partner, was speaker for two Consumer Behavior classes at Mississippi State University during the Career Chats event in March. The forum provides students with career advice and insights into the world of marketing. McKie is a member and inaugural chairperson of the newly established MBA Advisory Board at Mississippi State University.

McKie is also serving on the Jackson State University Mass Communications Advisory Council, a group of businesspeople and educators working to improve the university’s Mass Communications degree program.

Sue Templeman, Vice President of Brand Management (third from right), serves on the Gulfport Chamber of Commerce Board. The board recently attended the groundbreaking of the new Gulfport Dodge’s Store. Templeman also volunteers her time at the Red Cross of South Mississippi. In March, American Red Cross Month, she accepted a special proclamation of recognition on behalf of the Gulfport chapter.

Jessica Russell, Copywriter, serves as Public Service Chair of the American Advertising Federation of Jackson. Russell led efforts to host Jackson’s first Food Truck Festival downtown at The Art Garden in May. The event benefited AAF Jackson’s student education work and the Mississippi Museum of Art. Also, Russell and GodwinGroup Managing Partner John McKie hosted AAF students from Southern Miss.
