John McKie, GodwinGroup Managing Partner, served as a judge of the Speakers’ Edge competitive event for incoming MBA students at Mississippi State University. As individuals and teams, students were assigned topics and required to prepare and deliver timed presentations. Judges are a mixture of faculty and business professionals. McKie is Chair of the MBA Advisory Board for the MSU College of Business. The board supports the MBA program and provides input from professionals.
McKie is also active in the Professionals in the Classroom program at Southern Miss’s School of Communications. He recently spoke to classes about what really goes on in an advertising/marketing agency, met with individual students, and judged student portfolios.
Sue Templeman, a 20-year Godwin executive in brand management, serves as a board member of the Gulfport Chamber of Commerce and attended the recent grand opening of Gulfport’s Dabble in Everything. Templeman (second from left) is shown with fellow board members and business owners. Sue departs GodwinGroup’s Coast Office this month for a new position as development director with the Humane Society of South Mississippi. With a big heart for animals, Sue will do fantastic work for this important organization. Sue has worked on many Godwin accounts on the Gulf Coast, including Harrison County Tourism Commission, Gulf Coast Regional Tourism Partnership, Sandestin Golf & Beach Resort, and Watercolor. Her enthusiasm and dedication will be greatly missed. Good luck, Sue!
