Evette was born at the end of the Trace in Natchez, Mississippi. She attended Mississippi University for Women as a McDevitt scholarship student, where she majored in English with a concentration in creative writing. Evette interned with a publishing company in Jackson, a marketing agency in Birmingham and for Mississippi author Deborah Johnson. Her hard work earned her a job at a local newspaper before we scooped her up as our Digital Content Specialist. Eve fits well with the team, skilled in multitasking, meeting deadlines and keeping a good sense of humor.
GodwinGroup first caught Evette’s eye with the press releases she read while working for the newspaper. So when a friend told her about an open position, Evette jumped at the chance to “explore new possibilities and contribute to a team in a more impactful, creative way.” Evette has enjoyed getting to know her team members and everyone in the agency. But she says the best part is Chocolate Friday. Because chocolate.
Bet You Didn’t Know…
We hope she remembers us when she wins a Pulitzer — Evette is working on her own novel. In 2014, she participated in NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) and wrote a 50,000-word rough draft of that novel in a month. And while Evette is content to write, on and off the clock, she also loves to try new things. Her most recent feat? Indoor skydiving.
